NLCS: Kolten Wong Goes Deep For Cardinals (GIF)
By Hayden Kane
Kolten Wong stayed hot at the plate for the St. Louis Cardinals, blasting a solo home run in Game 4 of the NLCS as his teams tries to even their series with the San Francisco Giants.
If you make a mistake to Cardinals’ second baseman Kolten Wong right now, he will crush it. That included a walk-off home run in Game 2 of this series, and it continued with a blast of a home run over the right field wall in San Francisco in Game 4.

In this case it was Ryan Vogelsong who learned a tough lesson against the Cardinals’ second baseman. The Giants’ starter left a flat changeup over the heart of the plate, and Wong didn’t miss it.
The playoffs have seen the Cardinals have buck their trend in terms of offensive production from this past regular season. For 162 games they struggled to hit for power, yet now they are blasting one clutch home run after the other in this year’s playoffs. Wong has been in the center of that development.
As one of the hottest hitters for the Cardinals, Wong still does not have a single in the postseason. It’s been all extra base hits for Wong as he has shown some pop for a Cardinals team that is trying to return to the World Series for a second straight season.
