If there is one thing the Oregon Ducks are known for around college football, it is the eclectic variety of uniforms that they trot out there on a weekly basis. For any given game, you might find their football team in jet black, sparking silver, highlighter yellow, all white, and yes, many varieties of green.
The common thread of these sharp, Nike-funded uniforms is that they have something of a futuristic feel to them. Well, when Oregon takes the field this weekend against the Washington Huskies, they will take a break from looking forward and turn back the clock.
That’s right: it’s throwback time this Saturday for Oregon, with the cartoon duck on the shoulder pads to boot.
The old green and yellow colors might be jarring if this wasn’t Oregon we were talking about, but given the different color schemes from them over the years, their throwbacks feel downright normal.
Ranked no. 9 in the country entering this weekend’s game, the Oregon Ducks are trying to creep back up towards the playoffs. They will surely have a different uniform set for each game remaining on their schedule, and this weekend it will be the throwbacks.
