Ryan Tannehill believes that the Dolphins have all the pieces that they need to win.

The Miami Dolphins have been struggling in a big way this season, and are currently sitting at 2-3 on the season. Ryan Tannehill has been playing very inconsistent football, and there are questions beginning to arise about whether or not he is a legitimate franchise quarterback. That being said, he has been very vocal about believing that his team has the necessary pieces to win football games and compete in the AFC.

Miami Herald columnist Armando Salguero shared Tannehill’s comments.

“We have every piece we need to put this puzzle together, now it’s a matter of doing it.”

Obviously a quarterback is supposed to have faith in his teammates, but there are obvious issues with the Dolphins that need to be addressed. They have struggled on the offensive side of the football especially, and will need to fix things soon if they want to save their season. Tannehill needs to work on not turning the football over and being a leader for his team.

These comments are obviously a good start of leadership, but now he needs to go out on the field and back them up. Miami’s defense has been very good so far this season, ranking 13th against the run and eighth against the pass. The offense on the other hand, is just 25th in passing yards per game, but is sixth in rushing yards.

Now that Knowshon Moreno is out for the season with a torn ACL, the Dolphins will have to see more production from the passing game. Lamar Miller can step up and play well, but he won’t have the same type of ability to come through with huge games like Moreno. Tannehill has to find a way to play through his faults and help his team win football games.
