There has been a lot of talk recently about the potential of a Stone Cold Steve Austin return. With word that he was training recently, many thought that he was getting ready to come back to step into the ring one more time, maybe for a match at WrestleMania 31 next March.
First, his good friend Jim Ross shot down those rumors. Now, it’s been taken a step further as Austin himself has come right out and said he will not be at WrestleMania to work a match and he has no desire to return to the ring at all.
On the latest edition of his podcast, Austin finally addressed all of the rumors and made it pretty clear that he is not getting ready to hit any Stone Cold Stunners anytime soon.
Via WrestleZone.com:
"Austin said when he made a recent comment about gearing up for a “comeback,” he was referring to a “comeback to Gold’s Gym,” and despite reports that he’s training to return to a WWE ring, he has no desire to take bumps again and no time in his busy schedule to train for one more match.Austin then revealed he has a project coming up in February, and although he couldn’t reveal too many project details, he said the project would make chances of an Austin WWE return at WrestleMania 31 “slim to none.”"
Now that we have heard it from the man himself, that should stop a lot of the talk that’s been going around. He was pretty vague when he made the comment about a “comeback” a few weeks ago, but it’s all pretty crystal clear now.
But remember, while WrestleMania 31 is out of the question, WrestleMania 32 will be in the state of Texas. There’s always a light at the end of the tunnel for people who want to see Austin in the ring again.
