The Houston Rockets are always looking to upgrade their roster and some believe point guard is the position they are most likely to address.

When Brandon Jennings was still on the Milwaukee Bucks, Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders actually believed the Bucks could deal Brandon Jennings to the Houston Rockets in a sign-and-trade that could net them Jeremy Lin. Of course, the Bucks instead dealt Brandon Jennings to the Pistons and landed Brandon Knight in return. Jeremy Lin was dealt to the Los Angeles Lakers in the offseason.

Kennedy isn’t sure if Brandon Jennings is what the Rockets are looking for and doesn’t envision the two sides making a deal.

"I’m not sure if Jennings fits with the Rockets and if that is what Morey is looking for. I agree with you that Morey wants to keep his flexibility (which should be easier with the salary cap projected to go up significantly), but I don’t know how much better they’ll be with Jennings."

Kennedy is right – this move wouldn’t make much sense. It would eat up a lot of cap room for a team that now has a track record of convincing stars to join them (Dwight Howard).

Brandon Jennings spent the first four years of his career with the Milwaukee Bucks, who drafted him with the 10th-overall pick in the first round of the 2009 NBA Draft. He averaged 15.5 points, 7.6 assists, 3.1 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 37.3% from the field, 33.7$ from beyond the arc and 75.1% from the free throw line last season. In his career, he has put up 16.7 points, 61 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game while shooting 39.0% from the floor, 35.0% from three and 79.9% from the charity stripe.
