By Sam Richmond
D.J. Swearinger’s grandma ripped him after he struggled during the Houston Texans’ last game.
Houston Texans safety D.J. Swearinger didn’t have a strong showing during the team’s 33-28 loss to the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday.

Swearinger even admitted it was far from his best showing after the game on Twitter.
But Swearinger isn’t even his harshest critic. Members of Swearinger’s family, including his grandmother, ripped him for his poor play.
From ESPN:
"Swearinger heard it from all of his family members. Dad said, “Bro, what are you doing? I didn’t teach you how to tackle?” His mom and sisters chimed in as well. And Grandma didn’t mince any words.“Grandma said, ‘You, you horrible!'” Swearinger said, in his best grandma voice. “‘I don’t like that DJ. I don’t like that DJ.'”Swearinger could only agree. He told her it wouldn’t happen again.“I knew it was bad during the game,” he said. “Just a horrible performance.”"
This is fantastic and one has to wonder: was Swearinger more afraid to talk to his coaches or his grandma after the game?
Surely, Swearinger will put his best foot forward the Texans’ next time out in hopes of avoiding another one of these talks with his grandma.
The Texans selected Swearinger in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He has racked up 31 tackles and three forced fumbles this season.
