Knowshon Moreno stayed in the game after tearing his ACL vs. Green Bay on Sunday
The only thing that hurts worse than losing is losing a key player in said loss. The Miami Dolphins got that double whammy on Sunday in their 27-24 loss to the Green Bay Packers. They lost running back Knowshon Moreno for the season with a torn aACL.

This came as a shock to most Dolphin fans because the play in which Moreno injured his knee, an eight yard screen pass reception from quarterback Ryan Tannehill, happened a false start and third down pass before he finally left the game. That means that Moreno was on the field and lined up for one official and one unofficial play with an ACL tear.
After the play in which he was injured, Moreno actually waved off his backup, Lamar Miller, who was heading in to relieve him. The Dolphins scored a touchdown on the 3rd & 7 play in which Moreno was on the field in pass protection.
He never returned to the game after the touchdown. According to NFL protocol, teams are supposed to provide injury updates for players who are hurt during the game. The Dolphins did not because they claimed that they didn’t even know Moreno had sustained an injury.
Now Moreno’s season is done. It happened in his first game back after an elbow injury he suffered in a loss to the Buffalo Bills forced him to miss three weeks (two games).
The Dolphins’ prize free agent signing burst on the scene in Miami’s week one win over the New England Patriots. He ran for 134 yards and a touchdown. Since then he only has seven carries for 14 yards and a pass reception for eight yards.
Now it will be up to Lamar Miller to carry the load in the Miami backfield.
