The Florida State Seminoles are two days away from welcoming in the Notre Dame Fighting Irish to Tallahassee for one of the more anticipated games of the year, but they received some bad news on Thursday in regards to running back Mario Pender.
According to head coach Jimbo Fisher on Thursday night when addressing the media, Pender has been ruled out of the game with the Irish as he deals with an ankle injury.
Fisher says Mario Pender is out with the ankle.

Pender, who missed all of last season after being ruled academically ineligible, made his debut with the program this season and was emerging as the threat out of the backfield that many thought he would be during the recruiting process. This is a huge blow just three days before the game, but luckily for the ‘Noles, they have options.
Now Notre Dame will get some heavy doses of Karlos Williams and freshman Dalvin Cook, who has also been turning some heads in Tallahassee. These two should be able to carry the load out of the backfield just fine, but again, Pender will be missed as well.
