The Chicago Bulls clearly wanted this one.
That’s not something you often here in a preseason game but in this case, it was clearly true.
The Atlanta Hawks built a 21-point lead over the Bulls with just 11 minutes to go. Then, Jimmy Butler happened.
Jimmy Butler, who is looking for an extension (or possibly a new max contract in 2015 as a restricted free agent if they can’t work out a deal before the October 31 deadline), went off on the Hawks. He scored 29 points on eight-of-14 shooting, grabbed five rebounds, blocked two shots and recorded two steals.
He went 12-of-16 from the free throw line and just one-of-four from the three-point line but he sure made that one count.
Trailing 84-82, Jimmy Butler nailed a buzzer-beating three-pointer, giving the Bulls an 85-84 victory.
