The New York Jets are in the midst of a terrible season and are doing whatever they can to try to get back on track.
Through one half at Gillette Stadium, they have played the New England Patriots tough, only trailing 17-12 at the break.
The Jets have made getting to Tom Brady to stop a Patriots’ passing game that has been red-hot. Late in the the second quarter with the Patriots on the move, linebacker Antwan Barnes nearly got to Brady and then delivered a late hit. Patriots’ offensive lineman Jordan Devey took offense to the hit and let Barnes have it. After the play, Devey was given a 15-yard penalty, forcing the Patriots to settle for the field goal that made it 17-12.
It’s hard to get upset about retaliation when it involves your quarterback – Jordan Devey is there to protect Tom Brady, apparently at all costs.
