Kevin Love is on a new team and has a new outlook on basketball, but one thing remains the same as he looks towards the future — he wants more Olympic gold.

Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love is in a new city this season, having escaped the basketball boneyard of Minnesota. But while he’s focused on making the playoffs for the first time in his career, he’s also focusing on getting some more Olympic gold to add to his collection started back in 2012.

More from Cleveland Cavaliers

LeBron James has come out a few times to say how uncertain he is that the Rio Olympics in 2016 are a part of his future, but that is not a sentiment shared by his new teammate.

Kevin Love is looking at the 2016 Olympics with more certainty than LeBron is, as he’s noting how he wants to be there and hopes he’ll be included on the roster.

"Love left no doubt he wants to play again, after winning gold two years ago in London.“Playing for my country has done a lot of things for my career,” he said. “It has afforded me a great opportunity to get better. Wearing the USA across the chest was a great way to feel patriotic. I hope that I have another chance in 2016 to be here.”"

Love bowed out of the World Cup this summer thanks to the situation he was in with the Minnesota Timberwolves, but now that he’s in Cleveland he can focus on all aspects of his basketball career. Winning Olympic gold is hard to do, and Love is already trying to get his way back onto the roster and into the Rio Olympics in 2016.
