These playoff odds are generated by the predictionmachine.com. They are produced by using team and individual stats, as well as taking into account each team’s schedules. The season is then simulated 50,000 times, and the outcomes are turned into percentages.
There are some interesting results here. One team is already given an 89% chance of making the playoffs, and it might not be who you suspect. There are also four teams who currently are not in first place that have a better chance of making the playoffs than the division leader.
