Not all NFL players live up to their contract value each season. That is just a fact of life in the NFL. Whether it be because of injuries or just because of a bad decision by a team, there are overpaid NFL players on just about every roster.
Sometimes teams are willing to overpay for talent to help them attract players that have ties elsewhere. Other times, players are overpaid simply because a team improperly evaluates the player’s talent or misjudges the free agent market.
Of course, “overpaid” is a subjective measurement. For the purposes of this list, players are deemed to be overpaid if their on-field production is vastly under that of similarly paid players at their position, or if their pay is vastly above similarly productive players.
So just who are the most overpaid NFL players this season? Let’s take a look.
