Oklahoma City Thunder fans are wondering how this season will start off with Kevin Durant out for at least six weeks, and Scott Brooks is saying there will be no excuses for anything.
Kevin Durant will be missing the first six weeks of the NBA season, at a minimum, as his Jones fracture will require surgical repair before any basketball can be played. But while Durant sits out, his teammates will be very much in action when the season tips off at the end of the month.

Already there are rumblings that Thunder will get off to a slow start this year but that’s not something head coach Scott Brooks is thinking about. In fact, he’s already trying to disprove the notion that the Thunder are going to start slow in 2014-15.
Nick Gallo of NBA.com writes that the Thunder are not in the business of making excuses for themselves this season.
"“The process is ongoing and it will continue to be ongoing,” coach Scott Brooks said. “The first part of that process is not making an excuse. If you can all come to grips with that, then you have a better chance to have success. We’ve always done that as an organization. Whatever is thrown at us, we’re going to control what we can and not worry about the things that we can’t.”"
Losing the MVP is a pretty bad break for the Thunder, but they have Russell Westbrook who will now try to step up and make sure he can be the superstar he’s been trying to convince us he is for years. Excuses may not be in the cards for the Thunder, but there may be some early losses regardless.
