TNA Wrestling is floundering. Basically, the company is floundering due to the fact that President Dixie Carter has not made the best business decisions during her time in charge, including paying a lot of money for talent that never really ending up bringing the notoriety to the company that a lot thought they would.
Well, Carter might be at it once again.
According to a report from Wrestling Rumors, she has been telling the workers backstage that someone big is about to come in. Someone that could change the landscape of the company. You know, the same story we’ve heard before.
"Dixie Carter is reportedly telling TNA talent that a “shocking” contract signing may happen soon. The latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter claims that Carter is telling the locker room that the company is negotiating a deal with someone that would “shock people” in terms of their move to TNA Wrestling, and that whoever it is, the company expects that it will bring more eyes to their product."
However, here is why this story is worth reporting, even though we think that we can already figure out the outcome. The one big-name free agent out there right now is CM Punk, someone who could actually make a difference in the company at this point in his career. It was rumored that the company reached out to him recently, although that report was also refuted by PWInsider.
Still, you have to imagine that they did reach out to him. And with the way that he would probably like to stick it to WWE, you have to admit that, while unlikely, it’s not completely out of the realm of possibility. He is free to work for them now.
But, I suppose that we will see in due time what this is all about, and whether or not it will have the same outcome as always.
