Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III has been under a lot of scrutiny lately but he won’t be losing his position as starter due to his recent injury.
Robert Griffin III was bought and paid for by the Washington Redskins back in 2012 at quite a high price. The expense paid to land the former Baylor Bears quarterback was hefty, to say the least, and it has the team in a position where they’re all in on RGIII.

But even if Griffin had been a second round pick, he likely wouldn’t be facing job security questions just yet — and he’s very rightly not.
According to The Washington Post, the Redskins will resume using Griffin III as their starter once he’s healthy — not that Kirk Cousins was creating much controversy in the meantime.
"Quarterback Robert Griffin III returned to the practice field for the first time since dislocating his left ankle in Week 2, and looked “fine” while handling a limited workload, according to Jay Gruden. The coach said that once the third-year pro fully heals and shows an ability to practice at a high level, Griffin will recapture his job as starting quarterback. Gruden says he has no idea when that will be, however."
This is the right move, even if you’re one of those people who hate on RGIII. No matter how badly some want to see him fail, everyone has to admit that Washington handing him the reigns back is the best for all involved.
If anything has been learned from this situation, it’s that Washington should have traded Kirk Cousins while they had a chance as his value is dropping with every pass he throws.
