The Toronto Raptors are said to be looking for an upgrade at power forward and one very good player, Taj Gibson of the Chicago Bulls, could be available.

Once it became inevitable the Chicago Bulls were going to use the amnesty clause to waive power forward Carlos Boozer, Taj Gibson likely believed he would earn a starting role. Instead, the Bulls signed Pau Gaosl, who will take Boozer’s place as the starting power forward.
Taj Gibson continues to say all of the right things but he clearly would prefer to be a starter. One team that would love to upgrade in their front court as they tempt to become a legitimate NBA title contender is the Toronto Raptors. They could try to put together some kind of deal to acquire Taj Gibson.
Joel Brigham of Basketball Insiders believes Taj Gibson would be a good fit for the Raptors.
"There aren’t a lot of top-flight power forwards available right now (everybody’s super optimistic about where they stand right now), but there’s no way the Raptors are going to get someone great without giving up some assets. Masai has been great about accumulating picks, so he’s got some things to work with, but getting a top-flight PF won’t be easy. Taj Gibson might become available, and he’d be a fun guy to have in there."
Of course, the Raptors would have to part with a very talented player and we know they wouldn’t deal one of their talented guards – Kyle Lowry or DeMar DeRozan. Perhaps, they could build a package around the talented Terrence Ross to get something done? Most likely, they’d need a third team.
Taj Gibson averaged 13.0 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.4 blocks and 1.1 assists per game last year while shooting 47.9% from the floor and 75.1% from the free throw line last season. Taj Gibson has put up 9.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.3 blocks and 0.9 assists per game while shooting 56.1% from the field and 68.6% from the charity stripe over his five-year career.
