Tennessee Titans vs. Washington Redskins
Losers of five straight, the Washington Redskins take on a Tennessee Titans team to FedEx Field that has never lost in the nation’s capital since moving from Houston in 1997. The game could come down to which backup quarterback — Tennessee’s Charlie Whitehurst or Washington’s Kirk Cousins — can make the least mistakes, as both teams have struggled to move the ball in wake of injuries from opening day signal callers Jake Locker and Robert Griffin III, respectively.

Keys to Victory
Redskins fans are counting the seconds until the return of RGIII, as Cousins has been the main culprit behind the team’s -9 turnover margin which ranks worst in the league. Those issues have become magnified the last three weeks, as Washington has committed 10 turnovers in that span. The Titans hope that Locker’s injured thumb heals, as the offense has become stagnant with Whitehurst under center. Locker’s loss also takes away the up-tempo attack that head coach Ken Whisenhunt had envisioned, which takes away the big-play potential of wideouts Justin Hunter and Kendall Wright.

Prediction
Redskins RB Alfred Morris has been stymied much of the season, but the Titans — who rank 24th against the run — could be the tonic he needs, while also reducing Cousins’ potential for miscues. Both teams have explosive downfield threats, as Titans wideout Justin Hunter averages 20.9 yards per catch, while DeSean Jackson averages 20.8 for the Redskins. In what should be a tight contest, whoever can get their respective outside playmaker most involved stands the best chance to win.
Final Score: Tennessee: 26, Washington: 17
