"During the event, Carmelo Anthony said, “There’s a lot of times the kids come to school and they don’t have notebooks. They don’t have pens. They don’t have pencils. They don’t have the outreach for that. Sometimes teachers have to go in their own pockets and spend their own money, and that’s taking away from them. A lot of times teachers can be overlooked and overshadowed, so I want to make it as smooth as possible. Make it easy and give them what they need.”"
Carmelo Anthony is doing good in a sports culture that’s plagued by bad press, showing the good athletes can do in the world. Education is extremely important in the development of a child and teachers play one of the biggest parts in that. School supplies are vital for quality education in American and Melo deserves props for his initiative. Let’s see more athletes do more things like this.
