This will cover the games that kick off between noon and 3 pm Eastern on Saturday.
(14)Kansas State at (11)Oklahoma(-7.5): What a joke this is. I can’t believe this lined opened at -12! There is no way Oklahoma covers this. The Sooners are better at RB and WR, and maybe the defensive line, but that’s it. This will be very close, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Oklahoma lost. Give me K-State.
South Florida(-1.5) at Tulsa: I can’t argue that the Bulls have looked better than Tulsa so far. Give me USF.
Tulane at Central Florida(-19.5): I know. I said that I wasn’t going to take a mediocre team to cover a large spread, but Tulane is awful, and UCF has a decent offense. I’m going with the Knights, even though I may regret it.
Syracuse(-5.5) at Wake Forest: This looks low. The Orange should cover this easily. I will take Syracuse for my lock of the early games.
(4)Baylor(-8.5) at West Virginia: The Mountaineers are tough at home, but they have been prone to giving up big plays. I have to take Baylor. They need to start proving that they can play defense if they want an invite to the playoff.
Iowa at Maryland(-4.5): Iowa has played better lately, but I am still not sure they can handle C.J. Brown. Give me Maryland.
Purdue at Minnesota(-13.5): This is too low. Purdue has been better, but they got ran on by the likes of Western Michigan. I have to think the Gophers will pound them into submission. Give me the Gophers.
Western Kentucky(-4.5) at Florida Atlantic: The Owls have been playing well, especially at home. That said, I don’t know if they can stop Doughty and the high-flying Hilltopper offense. I will take WKU.
UTSA at Louisiana Tech(-11.5): The Bulldogs are capable of covering this, but I don’t trust them after the loss to Northwestern State. I will take UTSA.
Virginia at Duke(-2.5): This line has been cut in half, and it’s all because of Virginia’s defensive prowess. I like the Cavs’ D, but I have to take Duke at home.
Akron(-3.5) at Ohio: The Zips have actually beaten someone with a pulse. Give me Akron.
Western Michigan at Bowling Green(-2.5): This looks low. I feel confident taking BGSU here.
Eastern Michigan at Massachusetts(-14.5): The Minutemen blew out Kent last week. Can they do it again? Doubtful. Give me EMU.
