Dallas Mavericks fans are hoping that this season ends a little happier than last year did, but there are still moves that the front office is planning on making to get the roster to where it needs to be.

The Dallas Mavericks are trying to put together a championship team much in the same way they did back in 2010. A lot of the pieces that helped win then are either still in place or back in place as the trio of Rick Carlyle, Dirk Nowitzki and Tyson Chandler are back together.

Last time that happened, the Mavericks walked away with an NBA title which has them hungry to get back and win it again. There are still moves that need to be made though, as it appears the Dallas Mavericks are trying to clear up some roster space heading into the season, leaving a spot open for a potential move later on down the road.

According to Marc J. Spears from Yahoo! Sports, the Dallas Mavericks are reportedly shopping Gal Mekel and Bernard James to open up roster spots heading into the season.

"The Dallas Mavericks have been shopping point guard Gal Mekel and center Bernard James in trade talks, sources told Yahoo Sports. The Mavericks would prefer to keep one or two of their 15 roster spots open entering this upcoming season, the sources said. No trade for either player is currently imminent, a source said."

Dallas is in no rush to mess with their roster, but they’re very open to the idea of doing so. Still, the Mavericks are planning ahead, which further confirms the notion that they’re going to go hard after an NBA title this season and try to win on e at all costs.
