Chris Bosh was the man and developing into one of the better players in the
when he was with the Toronto Raptors. He piled up stats, scoring over 20 points per game. He also helped the Raptors reach the postseason. Once he got to the Miami Heat, his role changed. He took a back seat to LeBron James and Dwyane Wade and wound up being heavily criticized.
However, Moke Hamilton of Basketball Insiders believes Chris Bosh is a better all-around player now than he was in Toronto.
"I also wouldn’t completely discount the Miami HEAT, either. Chris Bosh is a much better all-around player today than he was in Toronto, and he led that team to a few 40-win seasons and a division title, if memory serves. With Luol Deng and Erik Spoelstra, I think the HEAT will have something to say come playoff time, even if Dwyane Wade continues to regress due to health concerns."
It’s hard to disagree. Chris Bosh got a bum rap once he joined the Heat that he really didn’t deserve. Chris Bosh is a very good player. He took less money and a reduced role to win a championship with the Heat and it clearly paid off as they took home two titles in four years (and reached the Finals every season).
Bosh averaged 16.2 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1.0 blocks and 1.0 steals per game while shooting 51.6% from the field, 33.9% from three and 82.0% from the free trow line last season. In his career, he’s averaged 19.2 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.1 blocks per game while shooting 49.8% from the floor, 31.0% from three and 80.0% from the charity stripe.
