Palmer, who had missed the previous three games due to a shoulder nerve injury, was playing in his first action since opening night back on September 8th. Palmer managed to go 28-44 for 250 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. He has still yet to throw an interception this season.
As for Baker, this was not his first trip to the principal’s office this season. The first time he got in trouble he was fined $8,268 for his involvement in a fight when the Skins played the Philadelphia Eagles a few weeks earlier. What was interesting about that incident was Baker hit Eagles quarterback Nick Foles and drew a penalty flag for the hit. The NFL later said that the play should have been deemed legal and Baker should not have drawn a flag, despite still having to pay the fine.
For his part, Palmer was not injured on the facemask. I was at the game and remembering it happening but didn’t think twice about it once the next play happened. The referees missed several calls on both sides of the ball on Sunday, that being one.
