This is a pivotal year for Cleveland Cavaliers’ big man Tristan Thompson.
Tristan Thompson has often been at the center of trade rumors. Now that the Cavaliers have just two weeks to work out an extension for him (the deadline is October 31), it seems unlikely the two sides will come to a deal. In that case, Tristan Thompson would become a restricted free agent. Even if he is in the Cavaliers’ long-term plans, his play this season will decide what kind of contract he gets in the offseason.
There reports out of Cleveland have been positive thus far and many are expecting big things out of Tristan Thompson this season.
So far in the preseason, Tristan Thompson seems laid back.
He was interviewed by the Cavaliers’ sideline reporter on Friday night during their preseason game with the Dallas Mavericks. During the interview, Tristan Thompson made a few strange faces and nearly laughed before eventually saying “You know how I do Tina” and then kissing her.

Tristan Thompson averaged 11.7 points and 9.2 rebounds per game while shooting 47.7% from the field and 69.3% from the free throw line. In his three-year career, he’s put up 10.8 points and 8.6 rebounds per game while shooting 47.3% from the field and 63.0% from the free throw line.
