When Steve Sarkisian took over the USC program, everyone knew that Cody Kessler was going to be the key piece of this team. Everything with Sark’s offense surrounds the play of the quarterback, and on Saturday night against Colorado, Kessler is delivering like never before.
Just a short time ago against the Buffaloes, Kessler tossed his seventh touchdown pass of the game. Yes, his seventh. No. 7 was a 24-yard strike to Steven Mitchell.
That was the Kessler that this team needed in the loss to Boston College a few weeks ago.
But in all seriousness, as the season has gone along here, Kessler has only improved as time has gone on and he still has this team in contention for the Pac-12 South. If he continues to have outings even remotely close to this, then the Trojans will be in prime position to play for the conference title at the end of the year.
