College Football Picks Against The Spread Primetime October 18
By Mike Marteny
For my previous picks, and a rundown, try these:
This will cover the remaining games of the day!
(25)Marshall(-22.5) at Florida International: This is too high for a team that plays pretty well at home. Cato gets the record to himself, but Marshall doesn’t cover.
Colorado at (22)USC(-20.5): Javorious Allen could have a huge day against this defense. I have to go with USC at home, despite their recent struggles.
Tennessee at (3)Mississippi(-16.5): This might be the best defense in the country, but this looks like a trap game. Still, give me Ole Miss.
Missouri at Florida(-5.5): Wow! The Gators have a really good defense, but the offense is a mess. Can they win by six? I like the Gators to get at least one D/ST touchdown. Give me Florida.
Southern Mississippi at North Texas(-9.5): When in doubt, go with the home team.
Utah State at Colorado State(-5.5): The Rams offense has been very good, but the Aggies are adjusting to life without Chuckie quite well. Heads. Give me Colorado State.
Georgia Tech(-1.5) at North Carolina: This is too low. Give me the Bees for my lock of the night!
(19)Nebraska(-6.5) at Northwestern: Too low. If Minnesota can run them into submission, what do you think Ameer Abdullah will do?
Kentucky at LSU(-10.5): I think this is too many. The LSU offense is not good enough to win by this much right now.
Georgia State at South Alabama(-19.5): The Jaguars have the talent to cover this, especially at home. Give me South Alabama.
Washington at (9)Oregon(-20.5): After seeing what the Ducks did to UCLA, I don’t doubt that the Ducks can cover this. That said, this is a rivalry game. Give me Washington.
Iowa State at Texas(12.5): The Cyclones have been pretty good at home, but this Texas defense is going to give them all sorts of trouble. Give me Texas at home.
(5)Notre Dame at (2)Florida State(-10.5): This is too many. Notre Dame isn’t getting any respect, and FSU is not invincible. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Irish won straight up. Give me ND.
Nevada at BYU(-10.5): This is too many for the beat up Cougars to cover. I have to go with Nevada.
Hawaii at San Diego State(-7.5): The Warriors are not good on the mainland. SDSU covers easily.
(23)Stanford(-3.5) at (17)Arizona State: The odds tell the stories that the rankings don’t…..and they are right. Give me Stanford.
Arkansas State(-3.5) at Louisiana-Lafayette: The Cajuns burned me last week, but the Red Wolves are simply playing too well to pick against right now. Give me Arkansas State.
