Denver Broncos running back Montee Ball worked his way into a starting role this season but an injury seems to have forced him out of the featured back role for the season.

Montee ball was the featured back in Denver, but that appears like it has changed for good. After a groin injury took Ball out of action, it appears that the featured back role will rotate between backs the Broncos have, and not be handed back to Ball when he returns.

Ball had begun to look effective in his role with the Broncos, but the injury he suffered is forcing Denver to adjust.

According to Mike Klis from the Denver Post, due to his injury it looks unlikely that Montee Ball is going to regain his role as starter this season.

"I don’t think Ball quite recovered from his appendectomy and now his groin strain means it will make it difficult for him to regain his featured-back role this year."

The Broncos have one of the best records in football and the best quarterback of this era, so not having Ball isn’t going to end their season. What it will do though is set back Ball’s growth a bit, as he was looking to start growing more and more in this offense.

Denver will adjust, but the loss of Ball will still be an inconvenience that Denver didn’t want to have to deal with.
