Is Dion Waiters Still Available For Trade?
By Evan Massey
Is Dion Waiters still available for a trade if a team offered the Cavaliers a nice deal?
The Cleveland Cavaliers are ready to head into what is expected to be a championship contending 2014-15 NBA season, but they still have some question marks. One of the biggest question marks on the roster, is whether or not Dion Waiters is the answer for them at the shooting guard position.

Is Waiters still available for trade should a team decide to make a nice offer for him?
"Now, about Waiters. Conventional wisdom has it that the arrival of LeBron James and Kevin Love will be enough to whip the Cavs’ mercurial shooting guard into shape—and make him a significantly more efficient player to boot. But what if Waiters’ quick trigger and quirky personality are too much for Cleveland’s brass to deal with? Waiters has long been seen as potential trade fodder, and that scenario certainly hasn’t been entirely squashed."
It’s certainly possible that the Cavaliers could decide to trade him even though the season is just about to begin. He is going to have some issues slowing down and being more of a passive player with LeBron James, Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving on the roster needing their touches. So far during preseason action, he has been leading Cleveland in shot attempts and head coach David Blatt needs to be careful allowing that.
At just 22 years of age, he has shown the ability and potential to be a lethal scorer in the league. If he is able to continue improving and moving forward, he could very well turn into a special player that many teams will want on their roster.
He still has some attitude questions that are concerning and may scare some teams away. He has been very vocal about wanting his playing time and wanting the basketball in his hands. Cleveland looks like a championship contender, but they might be better off parting ways with Waiters and bringing in a more team-oriented shooting guard.
