Maryland Terrapins backup quarterback Caleb Rowe will miss the rest of the 2014 NCAA football season after suffering a torn ACL in his left knee.
The Maryland Terrapins will be without one of their top two quarterbacks after the team announced Caleb Rowe will miss the rest of 2014 with an ACL tear. The announcement came just before the team’s noon kickoff against the Iowa Hawkeyes.

This comes as a tough blow to Maryland, despite the fact that Rowe didn’t start the season as the team’s number one QB. C.J. Brown had that distinction, but when he went down with injury, it was Rowe who stepped up with some admirable performances.
Even more impressive was when Rowe stepped in for Brown again when Brown was proven ineffective and Rowe still played admirably. In those games, Rowe posted a 63 percent completion percentage along with 489 yards, 5 passing touchdowns and 4 interceptions.
This is Caleb Rowe’s second ACL tear in three years. He tore his ACL in the 2012 season as well.
As long as C.J. Brown can stay healthy, the Terps could be fine, but if they have to turn to Shane Cockerille or Perry Hills, they could be in trouble.
The Terrapins sat at 4-2 before their match with 5-1 Iowa, in a match that could determine who sits near the top of the Big Ten.
