The Oklahoma Sooners made the first score of the game Saturday against the Kansas State Wildcats in the first quarter on a two yard rush by Samaje Perine to make the score 7-0 Oklahoma with just under five minutes to play in the first quarter.

The 12-play, 79-yard drive was set up by an Alex Ross run for 42 yards that put Oklahoma on the Kansas State 36-yard-line. This led Oklahoma to rush it into the end zone.

Earlier in the drive, it was a scary moment for Oklahoma as quarterback Trevor Knight left the game with an injury. As he scrambled he dove head first and then was landed on by a Kansas State defender. He headed to the locker room under his own power.

The Oklahoma Sooners come into this home match-up against Kansas State at 5-1 after a loss to TCU just two weeks ago 33-37. Oklahoma was able to bounce back, however and beat Texas last week 31-26. The Sooners find themselves, along with the rest of the Big 12 conference, trailing Baylor who sits at 6-0 after a huge win over TCU last weekend 61-58. Baylor is currently playing West Virginia.

Kansas State at 4-1 is looking for positive results against Oklahoma. With a win, they could be thrusted to the topic of conversation for the Big 12 conference as their only loss has come to Auburn.

We’ll see how this one shapes up.
