San Francisco Giants Announce World Series Pitchers
By Ed Carroll
The San Francisco Giants will start Madison Bumgarner in Game One and Jake Peavy in Game Two of the World Series against the Kansas City Royals, with both games in Kauffman Stadium.
To no one’s surprise, the San Francisco Giants aren’t changing around their starting rotation for the World Series too much, and left-handed ace Madison Bumgarner will be on the hill for the Giants in Kauffman Stadium on Tuesday against the Kansas City Royals for Game One. Right-hander Jake Peavy will start for the Giants in Game Two on Wednesday.

Bumgarner will square off versus James Shields, the Royals best pitcher, in Game One, but the Giants’s ace has been rock-solid this postseason, and will be pitching on regular rest, thanks to the Giants finishing off the St. Louis Cardinals in five games (the Royals, fresh off a sweep of the Baltimore Orioles, will be fully rested as well).
Peavy will get the nod for the Giants in the second game, and his opponent will be Kansas City’s Yordano Ventura. Tim Hudson will be the Game Three starter for San Francisco, and Ryan Voglelsong gets the Game Four assignment.
