After the Florida Gators were embarrassed at the Swamp Saturday night in a blowout loss to Missouri, only two players partook of the tradition of singing the alma mater.
How disheartened were the Florida Gators after they were routed at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, also known as The Swamp, by the Missouri Tigers Saturday night by a 42-13 score?

It is a longtime tradition at Florida that had been abandoned before it was revived in 1990 when alumnus Steve Spurrier, the school’s first Heisman Trophy winner in 1966, when he took over as the program’s head coach.
The Gators lost despite holding Missouri to just 119 yards of total offense. That’s because the Tigers got four touchdowns on four different kinds of returns—a kickoff return, a punt return, a fumble return and an interception return.
Three of those scores came in the third quarter as Missouri opened a 42-0 lead.
The natives in Gainesville are getting restless. After Darvin Ruise returned an interception from Jeff Driskel for a 46-yard touchdown, the fans at The Swamp broke out in a chant of “Fire Muschamp,” referring to current Florida coach Will Muschamp.
The Gators fell to 3-3 with the loss and are just 2-3 in the SEC.
That comes on the heels of last season’s 4-8 record—Florida’s first losing record since they were 0-10-1 under first-year coach Charley Pell in 1979. Pell had the Gators in a bowl game the following season.
In his fourth season in Gainesville, Muschamp is now 25-19 overall and 18-14 in SEC play. Besides going 7-1 in the conference in 2012, however, Muschamp’s Gators are just 11-13 in the conference.
