To make matters worse, Fred Jackson was seen crying on the sidelines prior to being carted off the field.
Any time a player is seen crying on the sideline prior to the carts being brought out, the end results are almost never a good thing. We recently saw this with Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz who’s patellar tendon was torn in his knee.
Through the years, Jackson has been Mr. Reliable for the Bills as Spiller often dealt with injury. Last season, Jackson rushed for 890 yards and a career-high 9 rushing touchdowns. Prior to today’s game against the Vikings, Jackson rushed for 227 yards on 52 attempts and 1 touchdown.
In June of 2014, Jackson signed a one-year extension with the Bills. Depending on the severity of the injury, Jackson’s football career could be in jeopardy as Jackson nears the age of 34.
Per the Bills official Twitter account, Jackson will not return to the game.

With Jackson out of the picture, Spiller will pick up the responsibility as primary ball-carries in the Bills offense. On the season, Spiller has rushed for 234 yards on 68 attempts.
