The New Orleans Saints initially feared that tight end Jimmy Graham would miss up to a month’s worth of action due to a shoulder injury. Then it seemed like he might only miss a couple weeks, taking advantage of the benefit of a bye week.
Now, in the continuation of remarkable progress for the Saints’ tight end, Graham is expected to play against the Detroit Lions on Sunday in his team’s first game after their bye.
According to Adam Schefter:
A pregame setback could still derail these plans, but pending something of that nature, it sounds like the Saints will have their superstar tight end available on a limited basis.
We saw something like this last season when Graham was used as something like a goal-line specialist when he was dealing with an ankle injury. Even if he is not full health or full speed, Graham can still probably get to a spot and box out a defender for a jump ball in the end zone.
This is a development to monitor this morning leading up to the games, but it sounds like the Saints will have Jimmy Graham on the field against the Lions.
