Joe Flacco and the Baltimore Ravens keep piling it on the Atlanta Falcons
Oh yeah, they call him the streak. So it is not the way that Ray Stevens meant it in his 1980’s hit song. It refers more to the inability of most humans to catch Ravens WR Steve Smith.
Even at the age of 35, Smith can still outrun a lot of his peers as he proved on this play.
Smith turned this short pass from Joe Flacco into 49 yards that helped set up a Justin Tucker field goal to push Baltimore’s lead to 20-0 against a Falcon team that just can’t seem to get out of their own way in road games.
Matt Ryan did finally get the Falcons into the end zone on a four yard pass to Roddy White to cut the lead to 20-7 with just under eight minutes remaining. It will all be for naught if the Atlanta defense can’t come up with a stop to get the ball back into the hands of the offense.
That would obviously mean that they have to find some way to keep Steve Smith from running wild in the middle of the field.
