Although the team has not confirmed the extent of Stastny’s injury, he left the game early in the first period Saturday night in a 6-1 victory for the Blues over the Arizona Coyotes. He was seen later wearing a sling, but there has been no word as to whether that was precautionary or a sign that the center is significantly hurt. He was signed by the Blues during free agency this off-season, coming off an extremely successful season with the Colorado Avalanche.
Paajarvi, 23, is a relatively recent acquisition by the Blues as well, as he was traded from the Edmonton Oilers back in June of 2013. He scored six goals in 55 games with the team last year, although this will be his first game with the franchise this season.
I’m sure that Paajarvi is a fantastic hockey player, but I’m more fascinated to watch him skate simply because I’m in love with his name. The forward is Swedish, but I’m convinced that he’s actually Indian royalty of some sort. Is he single? I want his name.
