October is the month that many people associate with breast cancer awareness in the NFL. This is the month for pink uniforms, pink shoes, and pink gloves. The Montana Grizzlies took those efforts one step further on the NCAA level this past weekend by wearing pink face-masks in their 42-28 victory over UC-Davis.
Not only did Montana have pink masks; the “Griz” cursive lettering on the side of their helmet was also pink, I dare say a shade of hot pink at that. Put together with their usual silver base, it made for a sharp-looking helmet.

With the exception of snark from some people who find the pink uniforms disingenuous, this is a fun time of year to see the different things that teams come up with. Montana has taken things to another level with these helmets.
You know something is cool when it allows you to overlook how unfortunate a color combination pink is with maroon. That is what the Grizzlies did here, and it is only fitting that they won the game to boot.
