As you’ve noticed, there are a multiple games in the same time slot creating a situation that doesn’t allow for every game to be aired on your television at once. The folks over at 506 Sports make a map to show you which games are being played in what television markets.
Let’s start with CBS.
This map is hard to follow, but there are some interesting television assignments in this one. Like why is Arizona watching the Miami Dolphins game against the Chicago Bears. The Cleveland Browns game playing in East Texas makes sense because of the Johnny Manziel connection. The other game getting sporadic national coverage is the Kansas City Chiefs clash on the road with the San Diego Chargers, which is being played in three NFC South cities.
This map is a little bit more straightforward and understandable. The Carolina Panthers game against the Green Bay Packers gets national coverage and the rest is pretty regional. The New Orleans Saints game against the Detroit Lions gets some coverage in central Texas and West Virginia.
The Dallas Cowboys game against the New York Giants gets the national spotlight on FOX in the afternoon slot. The Arizona Cardinals game against the Oakland Raiders is available in the markets surrounding those respective cities.
