Redskins vs. Titans Final Score: Washington Wins 19-17 On Last Second Field Goal
By Josh Hill
The Washington Redskins had to move on to their third quarterback this season, but Colt McCoy helped make things more interesting than we thought they’d be in Washington this Sunday.
Colt McCoy entered Sunday afternoon as the backup to the backup but he ended the game as the starter. After Kirk Cousins played his way to the bench against the Tennessee Titans, the Washington Redskins leaned on the former Texas Longhorns star to bring them back into a game the Tennessee Titans were dominating.

Kirk Cousins was allowed to throw just 16 times before getting yanked, amassing a grand total of 139 yards and two turnovers on the afternoon. It was a change no one saw coming but it ended up paying off for the Redskins. Down 10-6 at the time, McCoy threw a touchdown pass on his very first throw of the game, giving Washington a 13-10 lead they needed.
Kai Forbath added a field goal to make it a six point game, but Charlie Whitehurst wouldn’t go quietly, adding another touchdown on the day to make it a 17-16 lead late in the fourth quarter. Leave it to Colt McCoy though to make the game thrilling right up to the very last second.
Driving the Redskins down inside of the red zone, the Redskins won the game on a last second field goal on Kai Forbath.
The game gives both the Redskins and the Titans a 2-5 record, but the game paid off in entertainment value more than anyone thought it would have knowing that it was a game where Colt McCoy and Charlie Whitehurst were the quarterbacks.
