The

Seattle Seahawks

surprised many when they traded one of the

NFL

‘s most explosive players, wide receiver Percy Harvin, to the

New York Jets

for a conditional draft pick on Friday. In March of 2013, the Seahawks dealt their first and seventh-round picks in the 2013 draft and a third-round selection in 2014 draft to the

Minnesota Vikings

to acquire Percy Harvin. They then gave him a six-year, $67 million contract.

Percy Harvin has had injury troubles and although he starred in the Seahawks’ Super Bowl victory over the Denver Broncos, he has played in just eight games for the Seahawks.

However, recent reports suggested injuries weren’t the reason he was traded. He had apparently become a problem in the locker room. One report suggested he had issues with quarterback Russell Wilson while several outlets believe had had an altercation with former teammate Golden Tate before the Super Bowl, giving him a black eye.

After the Seahawks’ 28-26 loss to the St. Louis Rams that dropped the defending champs to 3-3, several players were asked about Percy Harvin.

“That’s nobody’s business,” Wilson told reporters when he was asked about Percy Harvin and his fit on the team.

All-Pro safety Earl Thomas was asked about if there was any proof that Percy Harvin was a “bad fit” with the Seahawks, he told reporters “No, I thought he was a great guy.”

Thomas isn’t the only one who feels that way.

When cornerback Richard Sherman was asked if he saw any evidence that Percy Harvin did not fit in, he simply responded “I did not.”

There is a whole of evidence that Thomas and Sherman may just be trying to protect their former teammate. Wilson not denying the rumors and simply proclaiming “that’s nobody’s business” is much more telling.
