The Indiana Pacers will be without power forward David West for the rest of the preseason, and he could miss some of the NBA regular season as well, as West will get an MRI on his ankle today.
Indiana Pacers forward David West sprained his ankle on Saturday, and while X-rays were negative on the 34-year old’s ankle, West will have an MRI to determine the severity of the sprain, which forced him to leave the game.

West could potentially miss regular season games, but until the results of the MRI are revealed any timetable is likely pure speculation. The Pacers will start Luis Scola in his absence, leaving a Pacers roster hurt by the departure of Lance Stephenson and a season-ending injury to Paul George further depleted. Pacers head coach Frank Vogel also mentioned Chris Copeland could step up to fill the void by the injuries to West and George, though neither Copeland nor Scola have a lot of room left to grow as NBA players, so what Pacers fans see with them is likely exactly what Pacers fans will get with those two.
