NBA Redraft: Top 10 Picks; LeBron James Not First
By Andrew Ross
10.) John Wall
The league has become dominated by point guards, and Wall is one you’d want on your team. The Washington Wizards were a combined 45-119 in the two seasons prior to drafting Wall. It took a few years, but last season was finally the coming out party for the Wizards under Wall as he led them to their first playoff series win since the 2004-05 season.
Wall is already a veteran with four seasons under his belt, but he’s actually still one of the league’s youngest stars at only 24 years old. Wall has been very consistent in his short time in the league with career averages of 17.7 points (43 percent shooting), 8.3 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 1.6 steals.
9.) James Harden
A lot of people dislike Harden, but you can’t discount his talent.
Harden really hit the national map when he won the 6th Man of the Year award in 2011 for the Oklahoma City Thunder. After his breakout season, Sam Presti pulled a fast one on everyone by trading Harden to the Houston Rockets. It was this trade that would show the world just how good Harden was.
In two seasons as “the guy” on a team, Harden has averaged 25.7 points (45 percent shooting), 6 assists, 4.8 rebounds and 1.7 steals. We’ll have to wait to see how Bryant looks this year, but Harden appears to be the best shooting guard in the association right now.
The 25-year-old would be higher on my board if he played on both ends of the floor.
