Fantasy Football Waiver Wire 2014: Top 10 Week 8 pickups
Odell Beckham Jr.-WR-New York Giants (20.2%)
Another player who has been on the fringes of our lists the last couple weeks but is emerging as a must-add is Odell Beckham Jr. The Giants rookie WR from LSU missed the first four weeks of the season, but his arrival from injury coincided almost perfectly with Victor Cruz’s exit for the season with his own injury. ODB is the starting WR in a solid offense and has already started to show his big-time upside.
In his first three NFL games, Beckham has hauled in a total of 10 passes for 116 yards and already found the end zone three times. He and the Giants head onto their bye week in week eight along with the 49ers, but if you can afford to wait a week Beckham is by far the top available receiver for the rest of the season.
After the extra work he should get this week in practice, Beckham will face off with some tough matchups against the Colts, Seahawks, 49ers, and Cowboys, but things get much more favorable around fantasy playoff time as weeks 13-17 ODB faces the Jags, Titans, Redskins, Rams, and Eagles. He’s the top WR pickup this week as long as you can wait a bit for his production.
