Fantasy Football Waiver Wire 2014: Top 10 Week 8 pickups
Ronnie Hillman-Denver Broncos (11.4%)
Another running back who is widely available and making a splash lately, Hillman has filled in for the injured Montee Ball extremely well in a pair of tough matchups. In his first game as the feature-back, Hillman ran for an even 100 yards against a tough Jets defense, and he followed that up on Sunday Night Football with a two-touchdown, 71-yard game against the 49ers.
Hillman is definitely making his case for staying involved in the Broncos’ plan even after Ball returns with his solid efforts. He’s performed well in the passing game and most importantly avoided lost fumbles which cost him his job early last season.
Hillman should get at least one more start at running back in a favorable matchup on Thursday Night Football against a banged-up San Diego Chargers defense. He’s a solid RB2 this week making him a nice short term pickup, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he retains flex value the rest of the season in the Broncos prolific offense.
