Jason Dufner missed nearly three months of golf and detached himself from the game completely including not watching the Ryder Cup.

Jason Dufner is returning to golf for the first time in nearly three months since he suffered a neck injury as he will play in the Perth International in Australia starting Thursday. During those three months, however, Jason Dufner completely isolated himself from the world of golf, including the fact that he did not watch the Ryder Cup.

Jason Dufner was excluded from the Ryder Cup selections due to his neck injury and he told reporters Tuesday that he feels “much better physically … a little bit rested mentally.”

Jason Dufner’s injury caused him to want to take himself out of the world of golf completely, detatching himself.

“I wasn’t too interested in golf or what was going on in the golfing world during that time period,” Dufner said. “I didn’t watch one minute of the Ryder Cup. I got into a lot of different things. It was disappointing that I was injured, but it wasn’t miserable for me.”

The 2013 PGA champion is among the headliners for the Perth International who include fellow major winners Charl Schwartzel and Geoff Ogilvy as well as European Ryder Cup player and frenchman, Victor Dubuisson.

Jason Dufner has won three tournaments on tour including the Zurch Classic, HP Byron Nelson Championship and the PGA Championship. The 37-year-old golfer hopes to play without pain this weekend.

“I haven’t played competitive golf in 11 weeks, I don’t have that many expectations,” Dufner said. “I feel like if I can play 18 holes without any pain, that’ll be a good thing. Get rolling in the right direction again.””I haven’t played competitive golf in 11 weeks, I don’t have that many expectations,” Dufner said. “I feel like if I can play 18 holes without any pain, that’ll be a good thing.
