Paul George broke his leg in the most disgusting way back at the beginning of August, but the Indiana Pacers star is already on his way back to returning as soon as this season.

When Paul George broke his leg this August, the towel was all but thrown in by fans not looking forward to a season without their superstar. But things have turned around dramatically since that fateful night as George is already on his way back to returning this season.

George isn’t yet practicing with the team, nor is he enduring any basketball contact but the All-Star is starting to take jumpers in what would be the start of one of the most improbable comebacks in sports history. Adrian Peterson coming back from his torn ACL to have an MVP season was one thing, and Paul George returning after almost snapping his leg off would be on a whole new level.

Pacers fans may not believe it, but George is taking jumpers already, as evidenced by this video footage below:

This is wildly encouraging but it’s also a borderline tease. There is absolutely zero indication — outside of this footage above — that George is going to be anywhere near ready to play in the NBA this season. Keep in mind, while it’s nice to see him shooting the ball, he’s no t running or jumping much and isn’t taking direct contact.

When that happens, then Pacers fans can get excited but until then this is all one giant tease about what could have been if George hadn’t broken his leg in that Team USA scrimmage.
