The
are one of the top teams in the NFL with their 5-1 schedule. They mostly have their defense to thank, which has five defensive touchdowns this season. The Eagles have not been playing with their best offensive line, but they got some good news Tuesday and part of the puzzle may be solved soon. Offensive lineman Evan Mathis has been cleared to practice once again after an MCL injury.
Wednesday is the first day that Evan Mathis is eligible to practice after being placed on injured reserve with the designation to return. He won’t be eligible to play until Week 10, but will begin to prepare now.
“I won’t jump back into it full speed. There’s no rushing into it,” Mathis said according to Geoff Mosher of Comcast Sportsnet in Philadelphia. “I have three weeks of practice before I have to play.”
Other offensive line troubles for the Eagles included right tackle Lane Johnson who was suspended but just returned, leaving center Jason Kelce as the other missing starter. Kelce is also expected to return in week 10.
Once the Eagles can get their main offensive line, they may be even scarier than they are now. They’ve gone 5-1 missing three starters on the offensive line, we’ll see what kind of damage they can once they’re fully restored.
