It’s clear in the video that the day not only meant a great deal to Grandma Nelly, but to Wade as well. The three-time champion said “This gives me life,” after the two were done playing.
Wade also posted the following message on Instagram about his time with Grandma Nelly:
"Today after shootard. .I had the chance to meet this lovely lady. You never know the impact you have on people and meeting her made me realize yet again that my life is bigger than basketball. She presented a challenge to play me one on one for her 90th bday. Thanks to her family, the Miami Heat and TeamWade for making this wish come true. #biggerpurpose #hertearsalmostmademetear #happybday"
Kudos to Wade for creating such an awesome memory for Grandma Nelly.
Wade and the Heat next take the court on Friday versus the Memphis Grizzlies Friday at FedExForum.
