The Los Angeles Lakers will be without star Kobe Bryant for the remainder of the preseason.
Don’t expect to see Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant for the rest of the preseason. According to Mike Bresnahan of the Los Angeles Times, the Lakers have decided to give Bryant the last two games off for rest purposes.
Kobe Bryant will not play the Lakers' last two exhibition games. He's going to rest. Opener is next Tuesday vs. Houston.

Only playing six games in the 2013-14 season because of a knee injury which ended his season, Kobe Bryant finally looks healthy on the floor. There are some things that aren’t the same — for instance, Bryant’s lift on jump shots fails in comparison to pre-Achilles tear Kobe — but seeing him work through contact and minutes without injury is a good sign.
In the preseason, Bryant didn’t look like his superstar self, but the numbers were quite impressive.
Kobe will finish exhibition play with averages of 19 points, 4 assists, 3 rebs, 1.7 steals in 26.7 mins. Also of note: shooting 39.6%.

Without Bryant for the final two preseason games, head coach Byron Scott will get a nice chance to look at the other wings on his roster to get a feel for what’s in his arsenal.
The next time Bryant takes the floor, the Los Angeles Lakers will be facing Dwight Howard and the Houston Rockets on opening night, October 28.
