Over the last few years scouts and basketball fans alike have pointed to the 2014 NBA Draft as the next great influx of talent in the league.
Players like Aaron Gordon, Julius Randle and the Harrison twins, Andrew and Aaron (the twins did not declare and will be returning to the Kentucky Wildcats for their sophomore seasons) received a lot of hype but the debate has always come down to two players, Andrew Wiggins and Jabari Parker.
Jabari Parker was certainly the superior offensive player in college while Andrew Wiggins was a better defender. Jabari Parker is much more of a scorer than Andrew Wiggins.
Ultimately, the Cleveland Cavaliers made Andrew Wiggins the No. 1 overall pick before trading him to the Minnesota Timberwolves while Jabari Parker went second.
To the surprise of no one, Jabari Parker is expected to win the Rookie of the Year Award by the folks out in Las Vegas and by NBA general managers, who just released their annual GM survey. What may be a surprise is that Jabari Parker edges Wiggins as to who will be the best player in five years as well.
